Hearing loss is a possible side effect of Viagra (sildenafil citrate) and PDE-5 inhibitors says new study.
Growing Evidence of Side Effects
The evidence of side effects for the class of drugs including Viagra (sildenafil citrate) has grown along with their use, according to scientists from the Charing Cross Hospital in London.
Viagra Side Effect: Deafness?
Their study focused on the side effect of deafness and Viagra (sildenafil citrate).
Publishing the results in the journal Laryngoscope, they concluded:
“There is increasing evidence that PDE-5 inhibitors may induce sensorineural hearing loss via plausible physiological mechanisms. There needs to be more awareness of this disabling side effect among healthcare professionals responsible for prescribing this drug.”
