About Pill Advised

If you are like millions of Americans, you take medications and vitamins but don’t know how they interact with each other.

Vitamins or other dietary supplements can reduce the effects of drugs you are taking, causing unintended consequences. Or they can help, by working in harmony with them to enhance care or reduce the side effects of drugs.

But how can you find out if the interactions will be good or bad? Pill Advised was created to help you answer that question.

Pill Advised was founded by Leo Galland, MD, an internationally recognized leader in the field of integrated medicine, which combines the best of conventional and nutritional therapies.

ACP Evidence-Based Guide to Complementary and Alternative MedicineIn order to share his expertise on the use of medications and supplements with health care professionals, Dr. Galland wrote a chapter on interactions for the American College of Physicians textbook: ACP Evidence-Based Guide to Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

So that consumers as well as health care professionals could benefit from this knowledge, Dr. Galland created the Pill Advised application. Based on his extensive research of how supplements and medications interact, Dr. Galland developed the database that powers the application.
